Last week of the first quarter!

This is the last week of the first nine weeks. How we arrived here so quickly I do not know! Friday, October 25 is the last day of the nine weeks. It is an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed between 12:45-1:00 at both campuses.

Monday, 10/21, is Picture Retake Day. Any Jr High students will need to be transported by their parents back to the farm campus.

Second grade students test this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Some thoughts to ponder:

“Bring the child to the consciousness of his own dignity, and he will feel free. We see no limit to what should be offered to the child, for his will be an immense field of his chosen activity.” Maria Montessori

“Montessori argued that the educator’s job is to serve the child, determining what is needed to make the greatest progress. To her a child who fails in school should not be blamed, any more than a doctor should blame a patient who does not get well fast enough.” Tim Seldin

“Montessori encourages children to learn from each other, by having enough children in each age group, all students will find others at, above, and below their present level of development.”

“Maria Montessori’s time has come. Once considered a controversial figure in education, today she is recognized as one of the 21st century’s leading advocate for early childhood education and the research that she began changed the course of education.” Tim Seldin
